MTN Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting cultural heritage and community development with a contribution towards the 2026 Damba Festival of the Dagbon Traditional Council.
The company said it was honoured to support the annual celebration, describing Damba as an important festival that reflects Dagbon’s history, faith, chieftaincy, culture and communal identity.
MTN Ghana noted that the festival plays a significant role in preserving Dagbon’s cultural heritage and traditions while strengthening family and community bonds.
According to the company, Damba also provides an opportunity for younger generations to connect with their history and values, while promoting peace, reconciliation, cultural tourism and local economic activity.
As part of its support for the 2026 celebration, MTN Ghana is contributing GH¢20,000 in cash, GH¢1,000 worth of airtime, as well as drinks and water.
The company will also establish experience centres at key festival locations to provide customer support and engage directly with communities during the celebration.
MTN Ghana said the engagement would also enable the company to better understand the needs of communities and identify ways of supporting their development.
The company highlighted its 30-year presence and commitment to communities across Ghana, stressing that its contribution goes beyond telecommunications to include support for cultural heritage and initiatives that positively impact society.
MTN Ghana expressed gratitude to the people of Dagbon for their trust over the past 30 years and wished the Chiefs, Elders and the entire Dagbon Traditional Area a peaceful, joyful and successful Damba Festival.
The company called for renewed unity, hope and prosperity as the people of Dagbon celebrate their rich cultural heritage.
