Menzgold begs gov’t to lift Interpol alert on NAM1

The management of minerals trading company, Menzgold Ghana Limited has pleaded with the government to revoke the Interpol Red Alert order which has caused the continuous detention of its Chief Executive Officer, Nana Appiah  Mensah, in Dubai.

In a statement, the company urged the government to consider a bail bond if revoking the Interpol alert was not possible.

The company has made a formal appeal to the government in this regard.

Notices have been sent to all 194 Interpol states for Mr. Appiah Mensah’s arrest.

“Among other pertinent factual issues raised with supporting documents, we urged the government to respectfully revoke the Interpol Red Notice Order or agree to a bail bond for the immediate release of our Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold,” the statement from Menzgold’s management appealed.

Mr. Appiah Mensah was said to have been picked up in Dubai by Interpol in January 2019 after he was cleared of charges of fraud by a Dubai court.

These charges were not related to the company’s commitments to thousands of customers who are demanding their investments.

The company hopes to continue the pursuit of 750 kg of gold “now worth $39 million from Horizon Royal Diamonds.”

The appeal for release is also to allow Mr. Appiah Mensah to also work with hid other associates with a view to addressing the company’s liabilities.

Menzgold hopes its CEO will eventually be able to “freely communicate and meet with our global business associates and partners who have expressed preparedness following our favourable judgement in the Dubai Court on the 9th April, 2019, to assist financially and for us to adequately settle our cherished customer’s debt liabilities as soon as possible.”

At the moment, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has frozen properties of Menzgold as well as other associated companies.

The associated companies include; the Menzgold Office Complex,  Zylofon Art Complex, Brew Marketing Consult, Star Madrid Football Club, Zylofon Music and media company,  Brew Energy Company Limited, G- Tech automobile service.
