It is a great point – Antoine Semenyo on Bournemouth’s draw at Newcastle

AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo characterized his team’s point accumulation as a "great point" after securing a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United Football Club.

Despite missing out on all three points due to a late Newcastle equalizer in the 92nd minute by Matt Ritchie, Semenyo found positives in the game’s outcome.

He scored in the 69th minute to put Bournemouth ahead 2-1 after teammate Dominic Solanke had opened the scoring earlier.

This goal marked Semenyo’s first since returning to Bournemouth after participating in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire for the Ghanaian national team.

Addressing fans after the match, the 24-year-old player emphasized the team’s resilience, saying, “It’s Antoine here, great point. The Boys did well, unfortunate with the result but we take the point.”

This season, Semenyo has tallied four goals and two assists in 20 English Premier League appearances.

Semenyo will hope to keep his impressive performance intact when they host defending champions, Manchester City on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.
