Government is committed safeguarding against emerging terrorist attacks – Interior Minister

The Minister of Interior, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding Ghana against emerging terrorist threats in the sub-region.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Minister on Thursday, April 9,2026.
He said, “earlier today, I addressed the National Counter-Terrorism Stakeholders Meeting in Accra. I reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding Ghana against emerging terrorist threats in the sub-region.”
He said “this administration remains focused on strengthening intelligence systems, improving inter-agency coordination, and securing our borders to protect every Ghanaian.”

“I emphasized that timely information sharing and reliable databases are critical tools in modern security and urged all stakeholders to rise above institutional rivalry and work together in the national interest,” the Minister stated.
He added that, “We will not be complacent. Under our leadership, Ghana will continue to remain a beacon of peace and stability in the sub-region.”
