Gborbu Wulomo summons Daddy Lumba’s family head over alleged private burial at East Legon residence

The office of the Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse, the Spiritual Overlord of the GaDangme people, has summoned the family head of the late Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba over reports surrounding his alleged burial.

In a letter dated March 10, 2026, the office directed Victor Kofi Owusu, also known as Abusua Panyin Tupac and family head of the late musician, to appear before Nuumo Borketey Laweh Tsuru, the Gborbu Wulomo, at the Nungua Palace on Thursday, March 13 at 11:30 a.m.

The summons follows reports and public concerns regarding the alleged burial of the late Daddy Lumba, known in private life as Charles Kojo Fosu, at his private residence in East Legon in Accra.

According to the letter, the issue has generated significant concern among sections of the GaDangme people and has therefore been referred to the Spiritual Overlord for clarification and traditional review.

“As the Family Head (Abusua Panyin) of the late Charles Kojo Fosu, your presence is required to provide the necessary explanation and engagement on the matter in accordance with customary protocols and to assist in addressing the concerns raised,” the letter stated.

The office further directed Mr. Owusu to appear before Nuumo Borketey Laweh Tsuru at the Nungua Palace to offer clarification and cooperate with traditional authorities in resolving the matter.

The statement emphasised that the summons is intended to ensure respect for tradition, maintain harmony within the community and facilitate a peaceful resolution of the concerns surrounding the reported burial.

The office urged the family head to treat the summons with urgency and cooperate fully with the traditional leadership.
