Financial clearance for regional security recruitment imminent – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the Ministry of Finance will soon issue financial clearance to facilitate regional recruitment into the country’s security services.

According to the President, the clearance will allow each region to receive a designated quota for enlisting young people into various branches of the national security apparatus, including the police, military, fire service, immigration, and prison service.

Speaking at a durbar during his ‘Thank You Tour’ of the Western North Region on Tuesday, July 15, President Mahama reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to decentralising security sector recruitment.

“We also promised to decentralise recruitment into the security services. We’re waiting for financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance, and when we get it, every region is going to have a quota to send our young people to serve in the security services,” He stated.
