EC organises crunch meeting to address issues of 2020 polls

The Electoral Commission (EC) is this afternoon holding a crucial Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on the national elections which is 11 days away.
Though the Commission is done with the printing and distribution of all election materials across the country, concerns still remain with names of registered voters missing from the register.
The meeting is also expected to address issues of voter verification on the election day, and the Commission’s result declaration timelines.
The Electoral Commission is expected to come to a consensus with the political parties on these and other issues on the agenda for this meeting.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) had earlier accused the EC of excluding critical stakeholders from its decision-making processes.
The Director of Election of the NDC, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah cited a 2019 US Human Rights Report by the US State Department, alluded that the report vindicates their position on the Jean Mensa administration’s bias towards the governing NPP.
