DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE TACKLES ELECTRICITY IMPASSE, PROMOTES PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT IN SABONJIDA COMMUNITY

The District Chief Executive for Tatale Sanguli District, Hon. Mary Tagba, led a delegation comprising security agencies, Assembly members, engineers from the Volta River Authority (VRA), GRIDCO manager, and the Energy Commission to the Sabonjida community to address an impasse between Sabonjida and Sangban communities over an electricity outage.
During the visit, Hon. Tagba engaged in fruitful discussions with the people of Sabonjida, assuring them of her unwavering commitment to finding a lasting solution to the electricity issue. She emphasized the importance of valuing peace and using dialogue to resolve conflicts, appealing to residents to support her vision for developing the area.

The DCE urged the community to remain calm, allowing her office to work towards reconnecting both Sabonjida and Sangban communities to the national grid. Security agencies also sensitized the community on the need to be law-abiding citizens, while the GRIDCO manager and Energy Commission explained the processes involved in connecting to the national grid.
The people of Sabonjida warmly received the DCE and her team, pledging their full support to accelerate the resolution of the ongoing issues. Community elders and youth praised Hon. Tagba’s quick response, noting that no DCE had visited them since the district’s creation. They hailed her as a “God-sent” leader and “history maker” for her efforts in resetting the Tatale Sanguli District.

Following deliberations, it was resolved that Sangban would be reconnected to the national grid first, followed by Sabonjida and five other affected communities in the district. The DCE and her team expressed gratitude for the community’s understanding and reaffirmed their commitment to addressing their concerns in a timely and inclusive manner.
This visit demonstrates Hon. Mary Tagba’s dedication to promoting peace, development, and responsive governance in the Tatale Sanguli District.
