Did you vote ABA Fuseini for proverbs’ – Bawumia asks Constituents of Sagnarigu

The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is wondering whether the constituents of Sagnarigu voted their incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. ABA Fuseini to recite proverbs.

Dr. Bawumia stated the constituents of Sagnarigu since 1992 have voted for NDC, yet little is seen in terms of development in the area. This, he said has to change for a candidate who can lobby for developmental projects for the Constituency. He thus urged the people to vote for madam Felicia Tetteh to improve their living standards.

Hon. ABA Fuseini who has represented the people of Sagnarigu for eight (8) years is popularly known for his persistent use of proverbs in his engagement with the media and his constituents.

Addressing the Chiefs and people of the constituency at a rally in Sagnarigu on Sunday, 29th November, 2020, Dr. Bawumia said “If you ask ABA Fuseini for water, he recites proverbs. If you ask him for roads, he gives you proverbs. If you ask him for anything, he provides proverbs. Was he voted to parliament to provide us proverbs?”, the Vice President queried.

He appealed to the constituents to give Felicia Tetteh the opportunity to represent them to harness the development of the area and shun ABA Fuseini ‘who drinks tea and recites proverbs’.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia mentioned the numerous social interventions implemented by the NPP that has impacted the lives of almost every Ghanaian and wondered whether Ghanaians would have benefited from these interventions if former President Mahama was still the President of Ghana.

“We wouldn’t have benefited from Free Senior High School, NABCO, Restoration Allowance for Trainee Nurses and Teachers, Planting for Food and Jobs, One Constituency One Ambulance among others if John Mahama was still president of this country” Dr. Bawumia disclosed.

On her part, the NPP 2020 Parliamentary Candidate for Sagnarigu, Madam Felicia Tetteh said slow pace of development in the constituency is as a result the loyalty of the people of the Sagnarigu to the NDC which has been taken for granted. Mrs Tetteh added it was time constituents of Sagnarigu change their voting pattern for a development oriented MP and not a proverb reciter.

Madam Felicia Tetteh

She alleged the incumbent MP, Hon. ABA Fuseini on campaign platforms has advised the people not to vote for her because she is a Christian and questioned whether she was going to Parliament to become an Imam or Pastor.

In his welcome address, the Chief of Sagnarigu, Naa Ambassador Abdulai Yakubu on behalf of the people of area expressed his appreciation to the Government for the introduction of the Free Senior High School which he said has relieved himself since the ques of students at his palace seeking for admission fees has ended.

He however appealed to the Vice President to see the construction of roads in the constituency. Naa Ambassador Yakubu bemoaned the state of roads in the area and pleaded for the urgent attention from government.

Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia today commenced a day tour to the four Constituencies in Tamale to campaign with the various campaign teams. He also paid courtesy calls on some Imams and traditional leaders in Tamale.
