De-Eye Group was used to extort 2,000 Ghana Cedis from recruits – Kennedy Agyapong
New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency Kennedy Agyapong is lending credence to the illegality that was being perpetrated by De Eye Group, a pro-NPP militia that trained recruits at the Christiansborg Castle in Osu.
He disclosed that the leadership used the group to exploit about 2,000 Ghana Cedis each from the recruits under the guise that the unregistered private security agency, belonged to the state. Revealing how he got to know about this, he narrated that some time ago, a gentleman came to ask him for 2,000 Ghana Cedis because they were paying that amount for security recruitment at the Castle.
He therefore asked the gentleman to allow him to verify but it turned out that it was not as he was told. He later discovered that it was a former personal bodyguard of Akufo-Addo who was training people.
The Assin Central lawmaker who says he has no problem with the mode of investigations of Joy Fm’s Mannasseh Azuri Awuni, also disclosed that there is an element of truth in whatever the journalist put out there.
He lambasted authorities for claiming nothing like that existed, questioning whether they never saw the former personal bodyguard of the President training the people at the Castle.
He also stated that he does not have a problem with Manasseh Azuri Awuni, because he did not veil himself like Anas, to go undercover.
