Mr. Benjamin Kwaku Boakye, Director of Acapela Media, operators of Fiila FM, has officially been presented to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as the newly selected caretaker of the revered Okomfo Anokye Amoampon Stool.
The Queen Mother of the Agona Traditional Area, together with accredited kingmakers, formally presented Mr. Boakye during a customary ceremony held in line with Asante tradition.
The event marks a significant milestone in the traditional succession process and reaffirms Agona’s commitment to preserving the sacred legacy of Okomfo Anokye, whose spiritual authority and historic contributions remain central to Asanteman.
Addressing the Asantehene, the delegation explained that Mr. Boakye had been duly identified and endorsed through established customary procedures. His selection was subsequently presented for the Asantehene’s acknowledgment in accordance with tradition.
As part of the next stage of the process, Mr. Boakye will be led by the Agona Traditional Council to undertake the required swearing of allegiance — first to the people of Agona, then to the Traditional Council, and finally before the Asantehene — to complete the customary rites that confer full authority and responsibility upon the caretaker of the revered stool.
The Manhyia Palace commended the orderly conduct of the selection process and reiterated the importance of safeguarding stools connected to the spiritual heritage of Asanteman.
