Benjamin Asare transfer: Hertha BSC consider Hearts of Oak goalkeeper
Ghana goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who currently plays for Hearts of Oak, has been linked with a move to Hertha BSC in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga.

Asare, 34, joined Hearts of Oak from Great Olympics on 24 July 2024 and has since established his current club as his senior football base. The goalkeeper has also featured at the 2026 World Cup, making three appearances and recording two clean sheets while conceding two goals.
The potential move would see Asare leave Ghana’s Premier League for the German second tier, although the link remains a rumour and there has been no confirmation of an agreement between the clubs. Hertha BSC are the club named in connection with the goalkeeper as of 13 August 2026.
Asare is right-footed and stands 1.88m tall. His current market valuation is €200,000, while his contract with Hearts of Oak runs until 30 June 2027. That agreement means any move before its expiry would involve a transfer rather than a free transfer.
