Ayew Foundation donates to Ghanaian’s in Northern Region amid Covid 19

One of Ghana’s promising midfielder Andre Dede Ayew, has donated hand washing equipments and sanitizers to Ghanaians in the Northern part of the country amid the Coronavirus scare under his Ayew foundation.

The donation is  aimed at helping the vulnerable and the less privileged in society have access to hand washing devices to practice proper hand washing mechanisms at all times, in order to stay safe from the virus.

The regional manager of the Ayew foundation Abdul Razak Alhassan (DJ Carlos) who spearheaded the donation in Tamale, indicated that various hand washing points have been created in various communities to help in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

He noted Aboabo market, Central market, VIP station , Old sports stadium, Vittin palace, Vittin market among several others places that benefited from the gesture of the Ayew foundation.

In all, a total of 4,000 hand sanitizers, 50 hand washing stands, washing soap and tissues were distributed to individuals and groups.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to FiilaNews noted that they couldn’t have afforded the sanitizers in particular, due to the hike in prices in recent times.

A total of 132 persons have so far been confirmed to have been infected with the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Ghana.

This comes after 64 new positive cases were announced by the Ghana Health Service on Thursday, March 26, 2020. Of the 64 new cases, 40 were confirmed among those under mandatory quarantine while the 20 others were confirmed through the Ghana Health Service’s regular surveillance systems of the local population.

Authorities say all the new patients have been isolated and are receiving treatment.
