AratheJay recounts how a promoter booked his flight for a concert abroad with fraudulent card

The rapper disclosed in an interview with 3Music on October 30, 2025, that he received an invitation to perform at an event outside of Ghana, but things took a different turn when he arrived at the airport.

AratheJay said that he later learned about the illegal transaction when the airline employees questioned the validity of his ticket.

“I went for a show and the promoter booked my flight with a fraudulent card. I got to Kotoka and the teller asked me who booked my flight. I got confused, so I asked her what’s going on,” he said.

According to him, when he got to the venue, he engaged to the promoter, who pleaded with him to perform even though he hadn’t paid him.

“I got to the venue of the show, and we talked to the promoter. The promoter begged me to go on stage, meanwhile he hadn’t settled me. We left Ghana to come there and he didn’t want to fulfil his part of the deal.

“He still wanted me to go on stage while he’s not sorted me out. Now, the fans will be thinking I was the problem or I didn’t want to show up on stage,” he explained.

AratheJay stated that the promoter did not regret his actions and failed to apologise for the embarrasment.

“How I got to the destination wasn’t his problem. He didn’t care after booking a flight with a fraudulent card. He didn’t apologise for the inconvenience, and the police nearly arrested me at the airport,” he shared.

Following the incident, the artiste disclosed that he decided to name one of the songs on his upcoming album “Only Fans” to reflect the experience.

“With this incident, I decided to name one of the songs on my album ‘Only Fans’ because these promoters only care about the fans. They want clout, and they like it when they see the crowd,” he added.
