Ameenu Shardow remains Black Stars Team Manager – Henry Asante Twum

Henry Asante Twum, the Communication Manager of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has confirmed that Ameenu Shardow will continue as the Team Manager of the Black Stars.

Shardow assumed the role of Team Manager for the senior national team after Chris Hughton’s appointment in March 2022.

However, following the disappointing performance of the Black Stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, the GFA initiated several changes behind the scenes as part of the team’s restructuring.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Asante Twum acknowledged the significant alterations made but emphasized Shardow’s retention as the Team Manager.

“There have been numerous adjustments to the team that competed in Ivory Coast for the AFCON. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) deemed this necessary as part of the restructuring process,” he stated.

“Changes have been made across various aspects, including the team’s medical staff, physiotherapists, and technical team. However, Ameenu Shardow has been maintained in his role as Team Manager, and he is currently accompanying the team in Morocco for the upcoming matches,” he added.

The Black Stars are scheduled to face Nigeria and Uganda on March 22 and 26, respectively, in the March international fixtures at the Stade de Marrakesh.

Otto Addo, who has been reinstated as the Black Stars coach on a 34-month contract, will aim to commence his second tenure on a winning note.
