Alexander Djiku hails Fenerbahce teammates after hard-fought win against Konyaspor
Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has expressed excitement after Fenerbahce travelled to Konya to beat Konyaspor in a thrilling encounter on Monday evening.
The Black Stars centre-back lasted the entire duration as the Turkish giants defeated Konyaspor 3-2 on the road.
In a sensational start to the game, the hosts opened the scoring through Pedrinho after just a minute into the match.
Defender Mert Muldur levelled for the visitors 13 minutes later before former Leicester City player Caglar Soyuncur gave Fenerbace the lead halfway through the first half.
Konyaspor responded just before half time through Blaz Kramer to keep the game at level during the break.
Dusan Tadic secured the win for the visitors on the hour mark with a fine finish.
An excited Djiku took to social media to share his delight, posting: “Important win in a tough game. Great Team effort. Thank you for your support.”
Djiku has been instrumental for Jose Mourinho’s men, playing a pivotal role as the Yellow and Blue maintain the pressure on leaders Galatasaray.
Meanwhile, compatriot Emmanuel Boateng featured for Konyspor, playing 83 minutes before he was replaced by Danijel Aleksic.
