50% of NSS personnel yet to report despite posting; registration system to be closed on Friday – Deputy DG cautions

The National Service Scheme (NSS) has cautioned National Service personnel that its registration system will be closed on Friday, December 5, 2025, urging personnel yet to complete registration to do so.
Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations, Fuseini Donkor disclosed in an interview with Accra-based Joy News that only 50% of personnel posted this year have reported to duty stations.
He said half of the personnel are yet to report to work despite being posted.
Fuseini Donkor expressed worry over the low reporting rate, revealing that only 50% of personnel are through with their registration.
He warned that the system will not remain open after the Friday deadline.
“By Friday, we are closing the system,” he said on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
“Today is Wednesday, and 50% of them have not reported. Our system can take even a million, but they must report and register,” he urged.
Fuseini Donkor criticised what he referred to as intentional delays and attempts by some personnel to skip the official posting process and use middlemen.
He said NSS regional offices have been left idle because many deployed personnel are refusing to report with intentions to pay money to change their postings.
“The frustration they are giving to the system is becoming too much,” he lamented. “Most of the regional offices are just sitting there doing nothing because somebody thinks, ‘I will bring money, I will change it for you.’ Please, by Friday, we are locking the system.”
The Service is expected to issue further updates as the deadline approaches.
