2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Black Stars receive strong backing to beat Sudan in crucial games

Former Ghanaian international Emmanuel Duah is confident that the Black Stars will secure a win over Sudan in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Duah has faith in the four-time African champions to overcome Sudan, who have a Ghanaian presence in their coaching staff.
Sudan is currently led by former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah, with fellow Ghanaian Ignatius Osei-Fosu as his assistant.
These back-to-back games are crucial for Ghana, following a shaky start to the qualifiers, which saw a loss to Angola and a draw with Niger.
“By all means, the Black Stars will defeat Sudan,” Duah told Kessben FM, as reported by Ghanasoccernet.com.
The first leg is set for Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Accra Sports Stadium, with the return leg scheduled four days later in Libya.
Ghana began their training camp on Monday, October 7, 2024, with 11 players participating in the first session.
Coach Otto Addo expects to have a full squad by the end of Tuesday however, several key players, including Thomas Partey, Joseph Paintsil, Kingsley Schindler, and Osman Ibrahim, have been forced to withdraw due to fitness concerns.
To fill these gaps, Addo has issued late call-ups to Michael Baidoo of Elfsborg, Ibrahim Sadiq from AZ Alkmaar, Cercle Brugge’s Abu Francis, and Jonas Adjetey from FC Basel.
