Medeama SC’s struggles on the road continued on Wednesday as they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Heart of Lions at the Kpando Stadium, a result that further dents their title hopes.
Despite dominating possession for large spells of the game, the Mauve and Yellow were unable to convert their control into goals. Their wastefulness was punished in the second half when Ebenezer Abban rose highest to power home a thumping header, ultimately proving to be the match-winner for the hosts.
The Tarkwa-based side failed to mount a meaningful response, as their lack of cutting edge in the final third persisted throughout the contest. The loss adds to a string of poor away performances that now threaten to derail their campaign.
Medeama slip to 6th on the Ghana Premier League table, while Heart of Lions climb to 4th with 44 points from 27 matches, keeping their own ambitions very much alive.
