The swoop undertaken by the police at Changli a suburb of Tamale is said to be unjustified and therefore condemnable.
It was noted that the police had acted unprofessionally and therefore could not justify their actions and conduct no matter the level of provocation.
This was contained in a communique copied to FiilaNews on a joint METSEC meeting with political party leadership in Tamale on Covid-19 and the police swoop at Changli.
At the meeting it was agreed that there was the need for the Regional security council to initiate an enquiry into the event that led to the destruction in the community and the police officers involved be made to face the full rigors of the law.
The political parties also made an appeal for their involvement in dealing with crimes at the communities since they are at the better place to assist.
A passionate appeal was made to citizens to cooperate with the police in the fight against crime in the metropolis.
Meanwhile on the current pandemic, participants called for the need for more intense education on covid 19 and the need to also engage clerics in the region to help in the fight against gatherings in our communities.
