VfL Wolfsburg Sporting Director Pirmin Schwegler beleives the acquisition of Jonas Adjetey will positively impact their squad.
The Ghana international joined teh German club on transfer deadline day from Swiss side FC Basel.
Adjetey has signed a deal until 2030.
Speaking to the club website after the signing of the 22-year-old, Schwegler expressed confidence in the Black Stars defender’s ability to excel with the team.
“At Basel, he proved himself both in the league and internationally over the past three and a half years,” he said.
“We have high hopes for Jonas [Adjetey] and are convinced that he will strengthen our team immediately,” Schwegler added.
Adjetey joins Wolfsburg at a time when the club ranks 14th in the 18-team league Bundesliga standings and has conceded 42 goals in 20 league games.
Consistent performances in the Bundesliga could strengthen his bid for a place in the Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
