The officer in charge of the Economic Regulations and Planning at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Madam Alpha Welbeck has made a passionate appeal to consumers of petroleum products to report any fowl play at fuel stations regarding fuel quality to the authority for immediate action.

She made this known at a media sensitization workshop on fuel pricing formula and fuel quality at the Nim-Avenue hotel in Tamale.

In his submission, Mr. Saeed Ubeidulah Kutia indicated that a downward adjustment in petroleum prices at some fuel pumps does not necessarily mean the said pump sells low quality petrol.

The Head of Quality Assurance at NPA further added that before any fuel pump discharges product at its final destination, the regional NPA Boss assigns officers to check out for the quality standard to ensure it is still intact as approved by the national petroleum authority before its departure to the regions.

On pricing, Mr. Abass Ibrahim Tasunti indicated that the price buildup can be likened to the price deregulation policy which now has the consumer paying for the complete cost of the product without any subsidy from government to cushion Ghanaians.
