Ibrahim Salifu off to Accra to complete Hearts of Oak move

Ghana Premier League heavyweights Accra Hearts of Oak are close to making a major signing as Techiman XI Wonders forward Salifu Ibrahim is expected to arrive in Accra in the coming hours to undergo a medical before completing his move to the club with both transfer fees and personal terms believed to have been effectively agreed.

He was spotted at the Kumasi Airport in the early hours of Friday.
The 20-year-old has been close to the top of Hearts’ wish list for many months, and Hearts have long been seen as the favourites to get a deal done despite Medeama’s latest interest in the midfielder.
Ibrahim has already decided that he wants to leave the Techiman club this transfer window, but given the impact of the coronavirus, an outbreak that has crippled the financial side of football, his list of suitors is not as long as it perhaps should be.

He had been keen on a move abroad, but talks with Samuel Boadu have helped convince him that Hearts’ project is one he should want to be part of – a tactic which also worked in the pursuit of Isaac Mensah.

Former Medeama SC head coach Samuel Boadu, who is also expected to announced shortly, is keen on using Salifu in the game against Kotoko on Sunday.

Ibrahim is one of the stars of this season’s league after some consistent performances for his side earning him a place in C.K. Akonnor’s team for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome.

He is expected to sign a 3-year-deal with the Phobians.
