Mohammed Kudus is underrated – Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Xavi Simons
Dutch international Xavi Simons has described his Tottenham Hotspur teammate Mohammed Kudus as one of the most underrated footballers in Europe.

Simons and Kudus are now teammates in North London after once sharing a fierce rivalry in the Dutch Eredivisie. Simons previously starred for PSV Eindhoven, while the Black Stars midfielder made his name at arch-rivals Ajax before moving on from the Dutch top flight.
Kudus joined Spurs last summer following an impressive spell with West Ham United, before Simons made a last-minute switch to Tottenham after swerving fellow Premier League club.
Quizzed about underrated players, the enterprising Dutch playmaker insisted that Kudus deserves far more recognition for his performances and overall impact on the pitch, stressing he is underrated.
The Ghana international enjoyed a bright start to life at Spurs, quickly becoming a key figure in the team’s attacking setup. However, injury has since slowed his momentum. Before the setback, Kudus had made 26 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing six assists.
Tottenham have struggled for consistency in his absence and currently sit 16th on the league table with 29 points after 28 matches, just two places above the relegation zone. His creativity and dynamism have clearly been missed during a challenging period for the club.
As the 2026 FIFA World Cup draws closer, the 25-year-old will be eager to return to full fitness and rediscover his best form, both for Tottenham and Ghana.
