Liverpool ready to trigger Mohammed Kudus’ release clause amid Mohamed Salah’s potential Saudi move – Reports

Premier League powerhouse, Liverpool are considering triggering Mohammed Kudus' release clause this summer according to reports in the UK.

The Ghana international has been in stellar form for West Ham United since his transfer from Ajax last year.

With 13 goals and five assists in 43 appearances for the Hammers, Kudus has caught the eye of Liverpool, who are planning for the potential departure of Mohamed Salah to the Saudi Pro League after rejecting an offer in the winter transfer window.

According to UK-based journalist Dean Jones, who spoke to GiveMeSport, Kudus has an exit clause in his contract with West Ham, which Liverpool must activate to secure the 23-year-old’s services.

“It’s very difficult to get a clear gauge on the terms of any release clause that is in the contract as no one involved is really confirming anything,” Jones stated. “The foundations of the story seem concrete so my hunch is to believe that there is a trigger-figure involved somewhere along the line.”

He added, “It’ll be interesting to find out what the level of it is and when it kicks in. If it is reasonable then you can imagine he might open up as a potential target for Liverpool, if Salah does end up leaving after all.”

Before joining West Ham United, Kudus was linked with clubs like Arsenal, Brighton, and Chelsea. Whether he will remain at West Ham this summer remains to be seen.
