Ghana’s Osman Bukari nominated for 2025 US Open Cup Player of the Tournament award
Ghanaian international Osman Bukari has been nominated for the 2025 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Player of the Tournament award following his impressive performances for Austin FC in this year’s competition.
Bukari played a pivotal role in guiding Austin FC to their first-ever US Open Cup final, where they narrowly lost 2-1 to Nashville SC. The Ghanaian winger contributed two goals and one assist across the campaign, earning recognition among the tournament’s standout performers.
His standout moments included scoring the game-winning penalty and assisting a goal in Austin’s 3-1 victory over Houston Dynamo in the Round of 16, and netting the opener in the semifinal against Minnesota United during extra time.
Bukari featured in all five of Austin FC’s matches, consistently influencing games with his pace, creativity, and attacking presence.
