Ghana’s Emmanuel Keyekeh close to switching international allegiance to Tanzania

Ghanaian footballer Emmanuel Keyekeh is on the verge of changing his sporting nationality to Tanzania.

Keyekeh, a former Asante Kotoko midfielder is on the cusp of completing ‘paperwork’ to switch allegiance to the East African nation.

The 27-year-old has warmed into the heart of Tanzanians after an explosive debut season for Singida Black Stars, where he has hugely impressed since joining from defending Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex 1996.

Multiple reports suggest the talented midfielder has forwarded his current passport to be canceled by Ghanaian authorities to fast track his nationality switch to Tanzania.

The midfielder is now awaiting the Tanzania responsible Ministry to sign off and issue his Tanzanian passport to complete the switch.

The exciting midfielder, uncapped by Ghana, is eligible to feature for the Tanzania national team once he’s cleared by authorities.

Keyekeh was in his native Ghana to tie the knot with his longtime sweetheart at a colourful wedding last week and switching to the promising African national would be considered the icing on the cake.

Tanzania have been trying to lure the Ghanaian to join them since he signed for Tanzanian Mainland Premier League side Singida Black Stars.

Officials have held talks and succeeded in convincing the midfielder to switch allegiance to the Taifa Stars.

The midfielder never got the opportunity to play for Ghana’s Black Stars.
