GFA President Kurt Okraku joins Sports Minister as Vice-President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang visits Sports Ministry
President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, joined the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, as Vice-President of the Republic, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, paid a working visit to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

The visit formed part of the Vice-President’s ongoing engagements with key sectors of government, aimed at assessing operations and strengthening institutional support.
During the visit, Professor Opoku-Agyemang commended the Ministry and the wider sports industry for their collective efforts in promoting sports development across the country.
She reaffirmed government’s commitment to the sector, pledging her full support and assuring stakeholders of the timely release of logistics and resources to enhance efficiency, improve planning and ensure the smooth execution of sports programmes and activities nationwide.
President Simeon-Okraku was part of a high-level delegation that included Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams and the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mrs. Wilhelmina Asamoah. His presence underscored the importance of collaboration between government institutions and sporting bodies in advancing Ghana’s sports agenda.
A key highlight of the visit was the presentation of a national team jersey to the Vice-President by Sports Minister Kofi Adams. The symbolic gesture represented unity, national pride, and the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting Ghanaian sports and its athletes.
The working visit further reinforced the shared resolve of government and sports administrators to deepen cooperation, strengthen structures, and drive sustainable growth within the country’s sports ecosystem.
