Germany-Based Philanthropist Akua Afriyie Supports Children and the Vulnerable in Tamale for the Second Time

Germany-based philanthropist Akua Afiriyi has once again demonstrated her commitment to supporting the vulnerable in Tamale after embarking on another round of donations to children and underserved communities.

During her latest visit, Afiriyi made stops at the Tamale West Hospital, the Nyohini Children’s Home, and the Tamale Central Prisons, where she donated assorted items including sachet water, biscuits, toiletries, drinks, and candies.
At the children’s ward of the Tamale West Hospital, she also paid the medical bills of several children, bringing relief to their families.
Speaking in an interview with Fiila News, the philanthropist said she made a personal promise before leaving Tamale that if things went well for her abroad, she would return regularly to support the less privileged.
She recalled that during her visit last year, she supported patients at the Orthopedic Ward at the Tamale Teaching Hospital by settling their medical bills.

Afriyie, who works as a health worker in Germany, said she shares this mission of giving back to society with her colleagues, who frequently join hands with her to mobilize support.
“This year, my colleagues and I came together again, which enabled me to extend the support to the Tamale West Hospital, the Nyohini Children’s Home, and inmates at the Tamale prisons,” she said.
She added that after witnessing the needs of inmates, she intends to streamline more support for the Tamale Central Prisons next year, noting that the facility requires greater assistance.

The Northern Regional PRO, Supt David Kwame Afatsawu, who received the items on behalf of the Northern Regional Commander of Prisons and the inmates, expressed gratitude to Mrs. Akua Afriyie and Fiila FM, stating that their support was a reflection of their commitment to the welfare of the inmates and the prisons. He hoped that their gesture would inspire others to support the prisons and contribute to the rehabilitation of the inmates, he asserted.
