FA Cup Round of 16: We have no excuse but to beat Aduana FC, says Kotoko coach Karim Zito
Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has made it clear that his team cannot afford to slip up against Aduana FC in their upcoming MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash.
Zito’s comments follow a disappointing 3–1 defeat to Heart of Lions last Saturday at the Kpando Sports Stadium in Matchday 21 of the Ghana Premier League.
The former Black Satellites coach reiterated his ambition to secure a season double, targeting both the league title and the FA Cup, stressing that his side must approach the Aduana game with maximum focus.
“Definitely, we have to win that game (against Aduana FC). We don’t have any excuse because my main objective is to win the league or the FA Cup—or even the double. So definitely, I have to work hard because we cannot afford to lose to Aduana,” he said.
Asante Kotoko will host their regional rivals at Baba Yara Stadium this weekend in what promises to be a fiercely contested fixture.
