Black Stars to engage in more pre-World Cup friendlies in May and June – Kofi Adams
Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has confirmed that the Black Stars will play additional international friendly matches in May and June as part of their build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana will feature at the global showpiece, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. As part of their early preparations, the four-time African champions are already scheduled to face Austria and Germany in friendly matches in March.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Adams revealed that further warm-up games have been lined up to fine-tune the team ahead of the tournament.
“The Black Stars will play additional friendlies in May and June, after the matches against Austria and Germany, as part of our preparations for the World Cup,” said the Buem Member of Parliament.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L and will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto. They will then take on England in Boston on June 23 before wrapping up the group stage against Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
After early exits at the group stage in Brazil 2014 and Qatar 2022, the Black Stars are eager to make a stronger impression when they return to football’s biggest stage in 2026.
