Berekum Chelsea coach Samuel Boadu sees red against Kotoko after referee clash
Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu was sent off after clashing with referee George Mawuli Vormawor during his side’s 0–0 draw against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the 70th minute when Boadu strongly disagreed with a decision from the centre referee. He was initially cautioned, but continued to remonstrate animatedly, prompting Vormawor to show a red card. Boadu was forced to watch the remainder of the match from the dressing room.

Despite the setback on the touchline, Berekum Chelsea remained organised and disciplined, holding firm to secure a valuable point away from home. Their compact shape and defensive focus frustrated Kotoko, who dominated possession but struggled to break through.
The result offered some relief for Chelsea, who remain in the bottom three and have endured a challenging campaign. Pressure has mounted on Boadu following a difficult first round, but the performance in Kumasi suggested signs of resilience and improvement.
While disciplinary issues will concern the club, the point gained could prove important as Chelsea look to steer clear of relegation danger in the weeks ahead.
