Ghana international Salisu Mohammed made his debut for Southampton on Thursday evening when he played full throttle in the team’s 2-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English FA Cup.

The young centre-back sealed a switch from Spanish side Real Valladolid to the English Premier League side last summer on the back of an outstanding campaign in the La Liga the previous season.

Despite his quality, the technical team of Southampton decided not to rush him but rather help him settle in the new environment before marking his debut.

After months of waiting where his fitness was worked on, Salisu Mohammed finally had the chance to play for Southampton today when the team played as a guest to Wolves at the Molineux Stadium in the quarter-finals of the English FA Cup.

The centre-back displayed decent form and helped his team’s defense to keep a clean sheet en route to winning 2-0.

In a game where Salisu Mohammed made 8 clearances and won five of the six duels he contested, the defender earned a rating of 6.9 from top statistics providers SofaScore.
