Vodafone Ghana Foundation offers free Ultrasound Scan services to expectant mothers in Tamale

Pregnant women at the Tamale Metropolitan Reproductive and Child Health Centre and it’s adjoining health centers has on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, benefited from a free Ultrasound scan services.

The initiative forms part of Vodafone Ghana foundation’s outreach in Tamale as part of their regional tour.

In her submission the Director Incharge of Legal and External Affairs at Vodafone Ghana, Madam Geta Striggner-Quartey noted the Foundation has remained relentless in implementing the most altruistic initiatives throughout the country since its establishment some 13 years ago.

She added that the Rural Ultrasound Scan initiative is one of the Foundation’s life-changing health initiatives implemented since 2016, and which has continuously provided free ultrasound scans with an able team of medical professionals, benefitting over 20,000 women since it’s inception .

Speaking to FiilaNews, the facility Incharge at the Tamale metropolitan health center, Madam Genevieve Jinapetey extended appreciation to the senior management team present and Vodafone Ghana Foundation for the honor done the expectant mothers.

According to her it will go a long way to help expectant mothers know if their unborn babies are safe and sound or to examine their wombs and other parts of their bodies.

She made an appeal to the foundation to help donate an ultrasound facility for the Tamale metro health center, to enable the health workers provide complete health care services to expectant mothers.

Meanwhile a beneficiary who spoke to FiilaNews, Madam Iddrisu Huzema

noted that the scan has been well taken without the usual pain that comes with it.

She thus thanked Vodafone Ghana Foundation for the honor done them.

In all, over 200 women benefited from the ultrasound scan service rendered to the people in the region.
