“A great international talent” – Copenhagen scout lauds newly signed teenager David Boison Frimpong
FC Copenhagen have reinforced their youth ranks with a major international prospect, securing the services of 18-year-old Ghanaian winger David Boison Frimpong from Medeama SC.

The deal, structured as a season-long loan with an option to buy, is a clear sign of the Danish club’s strategic focus on developing global football talent.
Frimpong joins Copenhagen’s U19 squad and is expected to play a pivotal role in the team’s upcoming campaign.
Known for his flair, speed, and creativity on the flanks, the left-footed winger has already attracted attention with his performances in the Ghana Premier League and the CAF Champions League – a rare achievement for a player his age.
Mikkel Kohler, Head of Scouting & Recruitment at FCK Talent, believes the club has landed a special talent.
“David is a very exciting left-footed winger who has already played some first-team games for Medeama SC and also had a stint in the CAF Champions League,” he said.
“He is a great international talent, who we are very happy to be able to associate with our U19 team, which began training on Monday.”
Frimpong’s arrival adds depth to a competitive youth setup that has produced some players for Copenhagen’s senior team and beyond.
His early exposure to top-tier football in Ghana, coupled with the continental experience, makes him a unique asset with someo succeed in European football.
“The lease agreement gives both parties a good opportunity to see each other,” Kohler added.
With a full season ahead in Denmark, the move represents a critical opportunity for Frimpong to acclimate to a European football culture, improve his technical and tactical attributes, and make a strong case for a permanent stay.
