GIS commissions Gushegu Office Complex

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has commissioned an ultra modern office complex in the Gushegu Municipality, to closely monitor the activities of foreigners living in the municipality and its Environs.

The Gushegu Municipal office which is the latest to be established under the Comptroller General of the Ghana Immigration Service under the sector of the northern command,will help augment the efforts of other security agencies in the development of the area.

Delivering his speech at the commissioning of the new office complex, the second in command of the GIS-Northern region, ACI Francis Tachie noted that as part of its five-year strategic plan, the service aims to have a well equipped GIS which is adequately resourced to support its operations.

This according to him forms the basis for the establishment of the Gushegu municipal office which will as well serve the people of Karaga and its environs.

He urged residents to visit the office with their immigration concerns whiles expressing gratitude to stakeholders for their support in the realization of the GIS dream of putting up offices in its operational areas.

On his part the Gushegu Municipal Chief Executive officer, MUSAH Issah underscored the need for the office in the municipality at a time when the world is currently faced with convergence of international threats and instability.

The MCE is therefore hopeful the operations of the GIS office will fortify the borders against any potential incidence of terrorism and extremism.

Meanwhile the Sector Commander  C/Supt. William Morwu Koreley made a passionate appeal to residents to accord officers deployed to work in the municipality,  the necessary cooperation in the discharge of their duties.
