National Security officers pick up pastor who threatened to kill Electoral Commission boss

A self-acclaimed pastor, Apostle Kwabena Owusu Agyei who threatened to kill the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson has been arrested by National Security officers.

The pastor at a Church Service on Facebook live on Sunday served a strong warning to Jean Mensa to stop the compilation of the new register.

In a video sighted by myjoyonline.com, some men who claimed to be from National Security were seen moving into the house of the pastor and arresting him.

The pastor has been issuing warnings and threatening statements to supporters of the compilation of the new voters’ register to be used for the upcoming general elections this year.

The EC recently completed a pilot project for the new register and has been dragged to the Supreme Court.

But even before comes out with its judgement, Apostle Kwabena Owusu Agyei has gone on to issue threats to the EC Chair.

He is alleged to have said that if the voter’s register is allowed to be changed, the Electoral Commissioner will die.

The pastor added that Ghanaians will not allow a small family to dictate to the nation.
