UDS-MSA begin a week long covid sensitization as part of its week celebration

The UDS medical students association has begun a its health week celebration to mark the annual

The weeklong event which begun on Monday 22nd February 2021, will see medical students  from the University for Development Studies (UDS), educating the public on issues pertaining to the novel Coronavirus to help minimize recorded figures on daily basis

In an interview with Fiila Fm’s Akosua Kwartemaa Boakye , a member of the UDS Medical Students Association,Mr. Dominic Forson  Indicated that so far covid has three different variant namely , the UK, South African and the Japanese variant with the UK variant being the most deadly and easily transmitted.

On its mental health implications he further noted that people should just abide by the outlined safety protocols and take a break from all covid related news to help boast their mental health status.

On Myths surrounding the pandemic Mr Forson further indicated that the myth of the virus meant  for the rich is complete myth as Covid doesn’t discriminate and must be disregarded..

They indicated that these falsehood usual makes combatting of the disease very difficult as patience turn to disregard all medical advice

On its sexual connotation, Mr. Duut Meshach noted that covid isn’t sexually transmissible but through kissing one can transmit the virus to their partner.

He further added that the men should resort to protecting the future unborn generations by staying safe during this period of the covid 19 pandemic.

Meanwhile another member of the association who also joined in on the Fiila morning show, Ms Benedicta Fosu indicated that though the pandemic has brought some hardship on Ghanaians, it also on the other hand help Ghanaians to adopt to a new normal of working online, and getting things done without necessarily being present at a point in time .

The week celebration which is themed; “ Rays of Hope:Rising from the ashes of the pandemic “,  will be climaxed on Friday 26th February,2021.

On the arrival of covid vaccine in the country for onward start of the mass vaccination exercise in March, Mr. Meshach noted that every individual need the vaccine to help their immune system fight the virus better incase they get infected.
