Gov’t hasn’t met all our demands – UTAG

 

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has said the strike was called off as a result of good faith.

National Secretary of UTAG, Dr. Asare Asante-Annor said it was not because the government has provided them with their demands

UTAG announced called off the strike action on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

In a statement dated March 8, 2022, jointly signed by the President of UTAG, Prof Solomon Nunoo and National Secretary, Dr Asare Asante-Annor, members of UTAG were urged to “demonstrate good faith by returning to the lecture halls to teach.”

Explaining further on 3FM’s Sunrise on Thursday hosted by Alfred Ocansey, the National Secretary of UTAG, Dr. Asare Asante-Annor said “we are acting in good faith; hoping the government will fulfil its promises to us”.

“Government has not heeded to our demands but we hope it will heed to our demands”.
