Though we’re against same sex,let’s love and change LGBTQI’s-Presiding Methodist Bishop

The presiding bishop of the methodist church of Ghana, most Rev, Dr Paul kwabena Boafo has indicated that though the Methodist church is against same sex marriage, there is the need for believers to device ways of loving people involved in the act and bringing them to the house of the lord .

According to him, although the methodist church does not support same sex marriage, their doors are opened to the LGBTQ+ community with the hope of a possible deliverance sometime in the future.

He made these statements during the ordination of 52 ministers of the methodist church in a colorful ceremony which was held in Tamale over the weekend, at the multi purpose auditorium of the University for development studies.

The presiding bishop of the methodist church Ghana admonished that, the ordained ministers should project the word of God but not to protect themselves as others pastors do in the country.

He further tasked the ordained ministers to live a holy life which will serve as an example for others to emulate.

Most Rev, Dr Boafo indicated that the core responsibility of an ordained minister is to love God’s people by preaching the word.

He stressed that, most people in the country think ministry is a lucrative career however in the methodist church is a calling by God.

This years ordination coincided with the Church’s 60 years of independence from the British methodist which offered it the opportunity to carry out its  activities without any interference.

In a FiilaNews interview, one of newly ordained Minister Isaac Edmond Kofi Adison, expressed gratitude to the church for the beautiful ceremony, noting that it’s been a tedious journey worth celebrating.

He indicated that, they have been through a six year training to enable them acquire the needed skills and knowledge to impact the lives of people of God.

Of the 53 Ministers ordained, 45 were male and 7 were females.
