The Northern regional police inaugurates Rehearsal studio for Police Band

The Northern Regional police on Thursday May 3,2021, inaugurated a newly modified structure for the police band to serve as a rehearsal studio for the band.

The Police band which was nothing to write home about, has now been lifted to the standard of an ultra modern status through the benevolence of Mr. Kingsley Djokotoe, an individual financier who came to its rescue.

In his opening remarks to commission the ultramodern Band, The Northern Regional Police Commander,  COP Timothy Yoosa Bonga commended the financier, Mr. Djokotoe for the timely completion of the rehearsal studio for the Police band.

He noted the kind gesture will enable the band to help serve the people better and indicated the availability of its services to the general public.

In time past the northern regional command depended heavily on either the Accra Band or Pwalugu band, for important assignments in the region, due to the absence of a formidable band.

On his part the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu lauded the commissioning of the police band here in Tamale.

He stated that the police band would not entertain the police and the public but it would generate income for the police service.

The regional minister commended the police and challenged them to ensure the sustainability of the band.

Meanwhile the financier who doubles as the CEO of IPMC-Tamale, Mr. Kingsley Djokotoe was acclaimed the Patron and a regional police ambassador by the command.

He indicated that the police service in general and the regional command in particular needs a lot of support to enable them deliver adequate security and entertainment services to the public.

He thus used the opportunity to appeal for support from individuals and benevolent organizations to revamp the service.
