The Gunners have expressed interest in signing the English-born of Ghanaian descent in the next summer transfer window.

English Premier League giants Arsenal have identified Tariq Lamptey as a potential replacement for Hector Bellerin who has been reportedly leaving the London based club in summer.

Despite being a regular for the Gunners since 2014, Bellerin has frequently been linked with a switch to another high-profile European club.

French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are said to be monitoring the situation at a time when the Spaniard may consider taking on a new challenge.

According to English tabloid CBS Sports, Arsenal are hoping to launch a mouthwatering bid to secure the services of Lamptey from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 20-year-old right wing-back has been a revelation at the Amex Stadium since leaving Chelsea in January 2020.

His explosive performance at Brighton and Hove Albion earned him a three-and-half year contract extension after attracting interest from Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Broussia Dortmund.

Lamptey who was born to Ghanaian parents in United Kingdom has been approached by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for a switch of international allegiance from England, for whom he currently plays at U21 level.
