Tamale Central NPP Parliamentary Candidate donates to Prisoners to mark Eid celebration

The Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Builders Corps Dr. Ibrahim Anyars has donated food and assorted drinks, to the inmates of the Tamale Central Prisons to commemorate this year’s Eid Al-Adha Celebrations.

The donation was done on behalf of Dr. Ibrahim Anyars by a team led by Mr. Iddrisu Ablayi Tahiru the aide to the CEO of Nabco.

The donated items included 300 hot packed meals and over 20 cartons of assorted drinks.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Iddrisu Ablayi Tahiru indicated that the gesture is to celebrate the Eid al-Adha festivities with our unfortunate brothers and sisters who happen to be in the house and not with their families.

According to him the office of the Tamale Central NPP parliamentary candidate Dr. Ibrahim Anyars, has been consistent with this gesture for the past four years as part of its social responsibility.

He meanwhile appealed to individuals to take up the responsibility to cater for inmates for the time they live there in.

Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates, the P. R. O of the service, DSP David Kwame Afatsawu made a passionate appeal to individuals and groups to make time out of their busy schedule to visit the inmates in order not to harden them the more.

He noted that when the inmates get hardened, they vent their anger on society when they finally are set free. He thus called on other organizations to emulate the kind gesture of Dr. Ibrahim Anyars and his team by consistently visiting the inmates.

Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to follow Allah’s (God’s) command to sacrifice his son.

Muslims around the world observe this event by slaughtering animals as a form of sacrifice and sharing with family and loved ones to commemorate the day.
