Several Challenges impeded our plans to initiate new projects – TaTU SRC Laments

The outgoing Financial Officer of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at the Tamale Technical University, Mr. Abubakari Ibrahim popularly known as (Pablo), has blamed the change of Vice Chancellor and the COVID-19 pandemic as the major impediments that caused  the 2020-2021 SRC from carrying out new projects.

Throwing more light, he said the change in Vice Chancellor for the University made it difficult for SRC executivs to retrieve funds to execute new projects.

He attributed their non performance to the COVID-19 Pandemic since academic work at a point was brought to a halt.

He made this known to the media during the handing over ceremony of the newly elected SRC Executives.

The Outgoing Financial Secretary further noted that, notwithstanding all the challenges that surrounded their tenure, they achieved some goals namely, the successful organization of Face of TaTU, the purchase of SRC cloth and the maintenance of the school’s auditorium among others.

Mr. Abubakari Ibrahim openly mentioned, the procurement of 900,000 yards of the SRC cloth as the greatest achievement among all, adding the institution lacked the cloth since its elevation to a University status in 2018.

He  added that though they couldn’t put up physical structures, they did their part as Executives of  their noble institution.
