Pentecost church walks for peaceful elections 2020

Members of the Church of Pentecost, Tamale Area, on Saturday November 21,2020, undertook a peace walk in Tamale township to add their voice to the call for all to ensure peaceful elections on December 7, 2020.

Clad in branded T-Shirt amid singing and dancing, the Pentecost Church members walked through the principal streets of the town to advocate and call on Ghanaians to uphold peace at all times.

The walk which forms part of the Agent of Peace campaign spearheaded by the church nationally, is part of the church’s effort at ensuring the observance of peace before, during and after the elections.

In his remarks to the congregants, Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani, Area head of the Tishegu Assembly of the Church of Pentecost, called on Ghanaians to rally behind the electoral commission whiles admonishing the commission to ensure a fair and credible elections come December 7.


Apostle Djani noted that an eye for an eye only makes the world blind ,hence the need to support eachother and place the interest of Ghana above our personal interests.

Alhaji Abdul Razak Saani, the Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) who also took part in the walk , urged Ghanaians to consider the disabled in society, Children and Women who suffer the most during war, and make Ghana more peaceful now more than ever.

He reminded Ghanaians that there has never been a Good war nor a Bad Peace; hence Ghanaians should endeavor to retain the peace inherited from our forbearers before, during and after the general elections.

The assemblyman for the Salamba electoral area where the church is located, Hon. Mahama Abdullah , called on electorates to exercise their franchise on December 7th and return home and monitor proceedings on televisions and Radio channels, rather than staying at the pooling stations and risk their lives.

He praised the Church of Pentecost for the good work than in building members and the community indicating that they are not religiously bias .

Church members wielded placards with inscriptions such as “ Peace can not be kept by force”,  “The Nation’s peace is one project we need to do together”,“ Vote a Leader,Hate not a brother”, “Stop Tribalism”, among several others.
