CAMFED Ghana has made an appeal to the general public to report all issues of imposters who carry themselves as their staff in their operational areas.

These are people who are muscarading as CAMFED staff and defrauding prospective applicants of their monies under the pretex of helping them find opportunities at CAMFED .

In an interview with FiilaNews, the programmes Manager Incharge of the Enterprise development and the tertiary program, Mr. Christian Zico Agbebo noted it was worrying to receive complaints of imposters defrauding vulnerable applicants of their hard earned money with the promise of securing them some form of support from CAMFED Ghana.

He emphatically stated that CAMFED will not in anyway ask applicants to pay monies to enable them secure support.

“Due to this it is boldly indicated on our application forms that no fee must be paid to anyone to receive support “.

Mr. Agbebo further indicated that when complains are lodged about any issue of imposters working as their staff, they report those issues to the police for onward actions to be taken.

He has meanwhile called on prospective applicants to use the google links that has CAMFED logo attached to it, to apply for support or walk into their district CAMA resource centers to apply for opportunities available at CAMFED .

Alternatively, applicants can also speak to their Core trainers, Learner Facilitators , learner guides, district programs coordinators, business facilitators/guides in the various operational areas who are better positioned to assist applicants through the process.

ABOUT CAMFED:

CAMFED’s work in Ghana is focused in the Northern, North East, Savannah, Bono East, Bono, Western, Eastern, Greater Accra,Ashanti, Upper East, Upper West and Central regions.

Though Ghana is achieving one of the fastest rates of poverty reduction in Africa and has made strong progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, this picture masks high poverty levels in the four regions where we operate.

Girls and women are the most vulnerable victims of poverty. Early drop-out from school, poor employment opportunities and social marginalization in decision- making processes reflect their low social status and lack of empowerment.

CAMFED’s programmes were established in Ghana in 1998, and we currently work with 1,189 schools in 38 districts.

Our Programmes:

We are creating educational opportunities for girls and vulnerable boys through:

  • secondary education and providing the skills, knowledge and capacity to empower rural civil society, including young women, to break the cycle of poverty in their communities.
  • Provision of career guidance and counseling services through CAMFED Teacher Mentoring programme.
  • Investment in teacher training and skills development to improve the quality of teaching and mentoring.
  • Investment in training programmes for school administrations to strengthen school governance and accountability systems.
