The minister for local government and rural development Hajia Alima Mahama has called on women to occupy various district assembly positions to help boost women participation in politics.

Hence, the launch of RAFELA-GHANA Chapter.

RAFELA works towards putting the concerns of women at the heart of local government policies and strategies, ensuring the participation of women in decision making within government institutions, strengthening women economic empowerment and advocating for the promotion of women’s leadership in local communities.

Hajia Mariam who also doubles as the President of NALAG and RAFELA, made a passionate appeal to all female MMDCEs, female AssemblyPersons, and all stakeholders to give off their best to achieve the goals of rafela  in their various electoral areas, Assemblies and organizations.
