The Takoradi constituency treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mark Ofori has been shot dead by some unknown persons.
The incident happened on Wednesday in the house of the deceased at Fijai.
The Western Regional NPP Organizer, Abdul Ganiwu who confirmed the development to Citi News said Mr. Ofori, was very healthy when he attended an orientation of the party on Tuesday.
The deceased, who is said to be a PhD candidate is described as “a wonderful person” by Abdul Ganiwu.
The Police and other security officials have visited the deceased’s house and commenced investigations.
The Western Regional NPP Organizer, Abdul Ganiwu called on the public to volunteer information and assist the police to ensure that the assailant is arrested and made to face the law.
The deceased left behind a wife and three children.
