NPP NORJ-DEC Reacts to the Empty Promises of Former President Mahama

The NPP Northern Ghana Agenda for JM 2020 Defeat Campaign (NORJ-DEC) has accused former President Mahama of engaging in what they described as unplanned and unthoughtful statements, with the intent of deceiving Ghanaian voters.

According to them Former president Mahama’s promise to set up one million sector jobs is unrealistic, unachievable and meant to deceive voters. This was contained in a press release copied to FiilaNews signed by Mr. Dramani Dari, the Convener of NORJ-DEC.

The group noted that, the Bole Bamboi constituency is blessed with Huge Gold deposits yet Mr. Mahama during his 20 years of political career from 1996 to 2016 was unable to initiate any meaningful mining project in the constituency to create jobs for the teeming youth in the area.

They further mentioned the promise by the ex-president to develop and promote the tourist center across the country, indicating that it was just another political rhetoric.

A statement signed by the convener of the group Mr. Dramani Dari said, “He did not see the need to do same for the following undeveloped and untapped tourism potential within his own area such as Mankuma Gonja Royal Museum, Nyanga Park, Salaga Slave Market, Larabanga Mosque and Mystic stone.

The group has meanwhile urged former President Mahama to encourage his supporters to desist from campaign of insult or face the consequences.

The statement further noted that the group has carried out series of research about the former President, and if his cronies’ (babies with sharp teeth in the NDC) do not stop the disrespect towards the President and his vice, they will be compelled to launch a destructive campaign against the ex-President Mahama.

The statement also added that the group owes it a responsibility to support and vigorously campaign for H.E. Nana Addo to retain power in the forthcoming December Elections.

On the basis that, within the last three and half years, Nana Addo has delivered on his promises and NPP’s 2016 Manifesto to the satisfaction of the good people of Ghana, with huge developmental impact on the lives of our people – Northerners.

They cited the creation of 2 new Regions out of the Northern Region, the Settlement of the Dagbon Chieftaincy disputes, Free SHS, construction of the Tamale Inter-Change, and the hosting of the first ever National 6th March Celebration in Tamale among others, as some of the projects the Akoffo Addo government has brought to the good people of the North.

The group is thus urging the general public to vote massively for the NPP during the upcoming December 7 elections, for massive developmental projects.
