Cote d’Ivoire’s Constitutional Council Confirms Victory Of Alassane Ouattara In Presidential Election

The Constitutional Council of Cote d’Ivoire has confirmed the re-election of incumbent President, Alassane Ouattara with 94.

27 percent of the vote in the presidential election.

At the end of the decision rendered by its president, Mamadou Kone, the Constitutional Council decided that “the election of October 31 is regular”, thus declaring Alassane Ouattara elected President of Cote d’Ivoire.

According to Independent Electoral Commission (CEI), out of a total of 6,066,441 voters, it collected 3,269,813 valid votes from 17,601 polling stations, with a participation rate of about 53.90 percent.

According to Mamadou Kone, no complaint from a presidential candidate has been registered by his institution and no irregularity likely to compromise the validity of the ballot has been noted by the CEI.
